Burj Khalifa which was initially known as Burj Dubai has 57 elevators and 8 escalators. The interior designs and the ambience is powered by artistic of royalty. There is an observation deck on the 124th floor named The Top which grants you a heavenly view of the entire city of Dubai and the good news is you don’t need a million dollar to have a piece of this great work of architecture. Have you ever witnessed a water fountain dancing to music before? I bet you haven’t however when you are in Dubai, you have this opportunity to enjoy this great work of art. The Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest choreographed fountain system set on the 30-acre man-made Burj Khalifa Lake. It is illuminated by 6,600 lights and 25 coloured projectors, it is 75 m (246 ft) long and shoots water up to 500 ft (152.4 m) into the air accompanied by a range of classical to contemporary Arabic and world music. This fountain show takes place each weekday at 1pm and in the evening from 6pm to 12 midnight every 30 minutes, where the fountain dance to the tune of music. You can also book a Dubai Fountain Lake Ride which gives you front row seats to the world’s largest performing fountain or simply watch it from across the Dubai mall. It is located between Dubai mall and Burj Khalifa.
THE DUBAI MALL
You can’t be in Dubai and not visit the Dubai mall, its literally an unforgivable act not because its the largest mall in the world by total area but it offers more than shopping experience. Dubai mall hosts the biggest fashion avenue of over two hundred of retail stores of the world most prestigious brands in fashion. It also has hundreds of restaurants, cafeterias, fast food and ice cream shops serving mouth watering recipes. Any product / service you are looking for and whatever brand you want, you will surely find it at the Dubai Mall and do you know you can share your shopping moments with family and the social media world thanks to the free WiFi at every corner of the mall?
There is literally a mini museum named the Souk Dome inside the Dubai mall where a skeleton of a dinosaur which is believed to be 155 million years old is on permanent display. On the skeleton stand are monitors that display the history of this dinosaur and how its fossil was secured. Doors are opened to everyone and its free.
DUBAI ICE RINK
Another great feature inside the Dubai mall is the ice rink. Yes there is an Olympic size ice rink for freestyle skating, foam party, snowfall etc. inside the mall. There are training sessions for those who want to learn how to skate and birthday celebration packages as well. What should motivate you to visit the ice rink is that snow does not fall in Dubai 🙂
DUBAI AQUARIUM AND UNDERWATER ZOO
There is a ten million-litre Aquarium tank located on the Ground Level of the Dubai Mall, showcases hundreds of sharks and rays, including the largest collection of Sand Tiger sharks in the world. it’s one of the largest suspended aquariums in the world with more than 33,000 aquatic animals. Stroll through a 48-metre tunnel, with the aquarium enveloping you from overhead and around or take a glass-bottom boat tour.
All these attractions and more are found within the Dubai mall so believe it when it is said that the mall offers more than shopping experience.
THE DUBAI FRAME
The Dubai Frame is an architectural landmark in Zabeel Park, Dubai. It has been described by The Guardian newspaper as “the biggest picture frame on the planet” and it actually holds the record for the largest frame in the world. This landmark overlooks the entire city of Dubai and it allows you to enjoy 360 degrees views of both old and new Dubai. You know all about the current development and stories of Dubai and probably its steps into the future so why don’t you visit this frame to get insight of where it all started (old Dubai)?
THE PALM ISLANDS
Palm Islands are three artificial islands, Palm Jumeirah, Deira Island and Palm Jebel Ali, on the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. All the three islands are shaped in the appearance of a date palm tree that consists of a trunk, a crown with fronds, and crescent islands that acts as a breakwater. This man-made islands are full of luxurious resorts, spa, restaurants including Atlantis The Palm, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, One&Only The Palm etc. The Palm is well developed with roads, tunnels and public transport so you can easily access the various hotels, restaurants and attractions on the island. Sailing around Palm Jumeirah in a yacht or speedboat is also a popular option or even skydive above the island for a truly unique experience or better still book helicopter flight to enjoy bird’s eye view of this historic work of architecture and engineering. There are a lot of tourism companies offering various packages for the palm islands so check on them and choose which one suits your pocket but bear in mind that you can’t visit Dubai without vising the palm islands.
BURJ AL ARAB
This iconic sail-shaped silhouette of Burj Al Arab stands tall as a beacon of modern Dubai and the third tallest building in the world. This stellar tower is a world class luxurious hotel with amenities that will make you feel like a royal. This Dubai attraction is a 56-floor building which opens all year round and caters for those who love living life large.
